The Arnie Honkamp Lifetime of Service Award has been given to select supporters who throughout their lives have made a tremendous impact on the Holy Family Catholic Schools mission. - Are visionary thinkers who see the big picture.
- Are invested in their community, stepping forward to take a leadership role.
- Walk the walk and accept nothing but the best.
Phil Bormann, Holy Family Catholic Schools Chief Administrator, states, “A graduate of Wahlert, Greg began giving back right away. In his younger years, he saw the need for a new gym at Wahlert. He pitched the vision, found the donors, and in a short time, helped to build the O'Connor Activities Center. He served on the Board of Education for St. Joseph the Worker, the Advancement Committee, and various ad-hoc committees throughout the years. He started the Wahlert father/son basketball camp, and for 10 years was the director of the Wahlert youth basketball tournament. Greg has also been a coach for the Golden Eagles including assistant varsity men’s basketball coach most recently.
Greg has been instrumental in championing three separate Holy Family capital campaigns, with a combined total of more than $50 million dollars – recently co-chairing the $25 million Platform for Excellence capital campaign that will impact every aspect of the Holy Family experience. He has worked behind the scenes with Holy Family administration recently to put together a comprehensive compensation strategy, leveraging endowed campaign funds and strong financial management to improve salary and benefits for all Holy Family faculty and staff.
Holy Family Catholic Schools is deeply grateful to Mr. Burbach for his dedicated support, vision and service leadership.â€
