Katie Thomas appointed to Honkamp, P.C. chief executive officer

Dubuque, Iowa, January 1, 2023 – Honkamp, P.C. announces the appointment of Katie Thomas, president of Honkamp, to president and chief executive officer (CEO). She succeeds former CEO Greg Burbach.

Katie Thomas, CPA, CFP®, CGMA, has been with the firm since 2004. In her 18 years at Honkamp, she quickly rose through leadership positions, becoming one of the youngest partners at the firm at the age of 29. In February 2020, Katie was named president of Honkamp.

She assists business and individuals with tax planning and preparation, financial planning, financial statement preparation, and business and management advising. In addition, Katie will focus on growing the firm, developing employees, and delivering solutions to enrich the lives of Honkamp employees, clients and communities.

Greg Burbach reflected on the move.

“It has been an honor to be a part of the Honkamp family for over 40 years, and I want to express my gratitude to the extremely dedicated employees, as well as our incredibly talented management team,” he said. “The future holds great opportunities for this organization.”

Going forward, Burbach will serve as a shareholder and the chairman of the board.
